Black Powder
We did two experiments on the Black Powder. The ingredients are carbon, sulfur, and potassium nitrate. Our hypothesis was that the finer it was, the easier it is to light.
On the first test we used 1 gram of carbon, 1 gram of sulfur, and 1 gram of potassium nitrate. My group and I ground the mixture to have a real fine texture. A small flame flame was produced.
The second experiment used 2 grams of carbon, 2 grams of sulfur, and 4 grams of potassium nitrate. We didn't grind it to a specific texture, but it was harder to light. The mixture produced larger flame than the one test before it.
